The feathered boas and high heels of the Las Vegas Showgirl are hitting the road. Las Vegas Tourism officials will send showgirls to five U.S. cities this week on a blitz to draw attention and visitors to the gambling playground.

Thursday (April 24) sequined showgirls will pause for photo opportunities at unmistakable attractions in San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Denver and Chicago. In San Diego, the showgirls will pose at Balboa Park and Mission Beach, in San Francisco, the girls appear at Pier 39 and the Golden Gate Bridge, while in Chicago the ladies will tower next to the Sears Tower. The whole stunt is to promote National Tourism Week, May 10-18, and the photos will show up on the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority web site.
